I chose Maverick because he had the whole package in terms of lyrics and flow and also i liked the sound of his rap voice, something that is hugely important when displaying yourself as an individual. The fact that he can clearly sing swung it for me as well. As for the rest of the top 5 i think they proved they belonged there and did make the decision hard for me. But i stick by my guns and want to congratulate Maverick for ripping it up. Thanks to everyone who entered, there was alot of talent on show, it was close. The only advice i can give to people wanting to suceed in this game, is to stop treating it like a game. It should not be about winning or losing, it should not be looked upon as a competition. Music is expression, and expression in its purist is just someone being honest about their feelings. B Is Back!

My back and my motherfucking neck hurts! If you sleep too much you wake up feeling like you havent slept at all. Maybe its the tour catching up on me (tours finished now btw), you know like a form of jet lag... I doubt it though! For a while now (apart from being in slight pain) my life has been satisfactory. At my age that is not good. When life becomes satisfactory nothin' inspires you to be artistic, you lose your drive to be creative. Half of the motivation you use to be creative stems from not having achieved anything and wanting to prove yourself. The thing is, what if you have already proved your self to your self? I may have not proved myself to the world but I have definately proved my self to myself. Thats why im confident enough to even get on the stage in front of two thousand people because I know how good i am. So this is where the motivational issues come in to play. Its not that i dont want to write my next album or direct my own film, its just that there's other things in my life making it satisfactory. In other words without pain I have nothing to write about. Without struggle I have nothing to motivate me and without oppostion I have nothing to challenge. So why am i oversleeping? Because i am thinking too much in bed about how to write my next album and how to finish my film treatment. The flow i had when writing my treatment was fast and decisive. But now all i do is lay in bed thinking about what to write next. I spend my day dealing with business and bullshit so that when i finally get to time to think i am laying in bed cutting in to my sleeping time. This meens i am going to sleep later making me more tired and then dreaming about being awake and finishing what i have to do. Thats why im waking up in pain, because my brain has been working over drive in its slumber, meaning that i wake up feeling like i have been up for twenty hours already.

So whats the answer? Be a fuck up again? Get rid of all the things that are comatizing you into a tempory state of happiness, cut your ties with the people that are making your life easier, be irresponsible, start doing drugs again, act like a fucking rock star, make the wrong decisions instead of the right ones like getting some crazy c class celeb media whore groupie pregnant so that the rest of your life is complicated from that day forward...I t worked for Pete Doherty! Or did it?

Maybe i need to take a risk. Do what method actors do, go live in someone else's shoe's for a while. I could go and start a new band, be whoever the fuck i wanted to be... We'll see i suppose. What i do know is i aint putting no bullshit out on my next record, whatever i has got to be big.

Bristol Blog

I lost my voice at the bristol gig on my tour. There had been a virus going round the band since the first week and Cas was the first to get it. Andy got it next, followed by Fat Daz who was doing the merch. I was performing Dead & Buried accousticly when my voice went, it was not a nice experience.

I apologised to the crowd and told the dickhead who kept on throwing empty plastic cups at me to stop before i through a bottle at him. Then i pulled a girl out of the crowd and made her sing the chorus of Who Needs Actions with me on stage. After getting through the set with a waining voice i left the stage feeling like i had let everybody down. So on the encore i put every last drop of energy into my performance ...

It was like i was on crack! Song 2 went down like a preverbial house on fire and No Good sent the crowd out of there nut when the Beni G D&B remix kicked in. All in all we pulled quite a lack luster gig back into an enjoyable night.

The Wesley & George Show got off to its third episode on the toilet door in our dressing room at Bristol. It will feature in the Pet Cemetelly video blogs from the tour. When the tour is done we will compile it all and make a DVD ...So keep an eye out for it

Northern Monkeys & Fake Ts

So me and the boys go out side to sign some mixtapes for fans and what do we see? ...A couple of northern monkeys selling counterfeit Plan B t-shirts. 'Who's Plan B then is he any good?' I ask the Northern Monkey. 'Next question' he replies. 'Plan B, what's his album like?' 'Next question' he replies again. The whole time this is happening, fans are coming up to me asking for autographs which I am signing right in front of the northern monkeys. Still they don't clock. 'Hey B you should get picture taken with one of those fake t-shirts for a joke' says Drake the bass player. 'Yeah, good idea' I reply. 'Oie mate pass me one of those t-shirts so I can get a picture taken with it?' I ask the arctic monkey 'No. Only if you buy it' he says. That was it... 'Fuck you mate, I am Plan B and those are my t-shirts you're ripping off. I could kick the shit out of you for doing what youre doing but I'm not, so give me a fucking t-shirt!' I demand. I pick up a t-shirt and Drake starts taking my photo. 'What, your Plan B? ...What kinda music do you tut make?' asks the cheeky monkey This is met with laughter from all of us. 'You should be happy that were promoting your band mate. We'll be seeing you tomorrow at Birmingham too!' says the cocky un-evolved human. And to finish off the banana munching cheeky chimpanzee type tactics, the little northern bloke says... 'Here I tell you what... Tut the end et tour, you come and see me and I'll give you one fut free!' Unbelievable aint it? I'm trying to make a living from my own merchandise, and these cheeky northern arctic chimps are ripping me
off! Believe If I ever start selling out Ally Pally, I wont even give a fuck ...But when im playing infront of only just over 500 people I cant be allowing that. So you little monkeys ...Expect a trifle, some greek yogurt or a mullers fruit corner coming yours and your fake merchandises way in the very near future!

Ps The monkey stereotype only applies to people that use underhand monkey type tactics to rip me off. Everybody else who is northern, thank you for supporting and just being northern without the monkey!

Backstage At Birmingham

I am backstage at my Birmingham show, writing this blog when I should be sound checking. Also I have to do some interview when I finish sound check which means less time for sound check. Oh well, its not a hard life like a homeless persons is or nothing, but I do have to do the business on stage tonight or I will look like a chump. You see that is the difference, I am selling myself as a product so (kinda like Jade Goody) if I come off looking bad ...I'm fucked! So that's what makes shit hard for me. Me and Killa Kella have wrote this routine for the shows that he supports, but I have had hardly any time to practice them. We tried it last night and it went alright but I forgot some lyrics ...That cant
keep happening! So what I need is some time to practice. So I'm gonna go and fuck off and practice, but before I go I thought I'd end the blog talking some unimportant shit like you do when you have nothing proper to say ...A bit like those tabloid columnists. So here goes... I went to Marks and sparks to buy some healthy foods ready made salads and shit cos I bought a ruby from a dodgy curry house in preston last night that I still haven't seen out the other side yet (I cant decide whether that's a good thing or not?). So I choose this tuna and endamel japenese type salad thinking it would taste like the fresh and tastier version I had in Tokyo ...Na ah! No such luck it tasted like shit! There were sugar snaps hiding amoungst the green beans that tasted chemically inhanced ...it aint right I tell the! The brie, tomato and rocket baguette was alright though and I bought some fresh
ingredients to make a salad for later! Last but not least... I just found a book i've looking for -for a while. Its called The Diceman by Luke Rhineheart. I will be reading it as soon as I get a chance and will let you know what I think.

Don’t Battle B!

I aint no battle rapper, my brains not quick enough to hold it up in that kind of situation, but that's not to say it cant be taught how to! I have battled in the past but only with friends so its not like I cant do it, more im rusty at it. Freestylings like playing football …If you aint played it in a couple years your gonna be shit at it. So you try recording a debut LP that was as critically acclaimed as mine and still be head fresh enough to freestyle when put on the spot. I have problems remembering my written shit so how the fuck am I gonna be able to prepare for a tour, rehearse brand new routines with Killa Kela and battle some wannabe rapper when I'm walking out of the venue with my suitcase straight after my Preston show? …I tell you how.

Battle rapping is an art, and the beauty of it is when it is completely off the cuff when someone is put under pressure. If you put someone like me under that kind of pressure and you aint a bad ass battler …Your gonna get merked even if I when it does come to it …I am just a rusty mother fucker!

If this blog makes no sense, don't worry …There will be a clip on youtube that will make it all pretty easy to understand.

On a different note …This is the first time my band have used a sleeper bus for a tour. It's a grade 'B' opposed to grade 'A' but its still a cool bus. Its got a kitchen area and a toilet as well as bunk beds and a lounge. The VCR's a bit old school and there is the occasional weird smell that appears now and again which I think is the septic tank but its ten times better than the tiny little splitter bus we had before. All will be revealed on the tours video blogs coming soon.

Paint It Blacker!

Long is the word commonly used around these parts for something that involves hard work. That's why I've chosen to use the word 'long' to describe the making of my forthcoming mix tape 'Paint It Blacker'. Without including the bootlegs made from tracks off my debut LP 'Who Needs Actions When You Got Words' I have basically produced and recorded a new album's worth of material. It's been hard to do something as big as this with the budget I've had to work with, but these trees are baring fruits my friends and they're ready to be enjoyed!

The past three days I've been in a studio in north London with Areli (Analog Kid) and his spa Yogi. I turned up with a tiny recording budget and a G-Drive full of music that needed everything from full vocals to little mix tweaks. So we got working, loading up songs on Pro Tools HD2 system that were made on a HD3 system …Long! Still work did get done and to a good standard (Big up Yogi and Areli on that one!).

Collaborations (against many of the artists will!) include… The Rolling Stones (Hence the title Paint It Blacker), Nirvana, Radiohead, Lovvin Brothers, Thom Yorke, Jose Gonzalez, Larrikin Love, Willy Mason, Lenard Cohen and Rick Ross & Coldplay. This mix tape should go down in history as one of finest examples of bootlegging and down-right sample robbery that has ever graced a Plan B fans ears! (Shameless self promotion I know, but I fucking mean it!)

So recording and mixing is done but the mix tape still needs to be compiled by Beni G and I haven't even started on the art work yet! So like I said, the whole process of doing shit to the best of your ability, when you know you're not going to get paid off of it is long! Still I'm all about the art so I endured it, and all just to read the positive feedback from all you loyal supporters who I know are going to go crazy over this shit!!!

The Roots

Christmas is approaching and we're touring around the country opening shows for the Roots. You may remember my last blog when I spoke of the German dates which I done acoustically and how I couldn't wait to get back with my band The B-Team for the UK ones? Well. We got to Bristol, set up the drum kit by the side of the stage with The Root's production team watching only to find out five minutes before sound check that The Roots never have bands supporting them. WTF I thought, could have sworn they knew I had a band, obviously not. Apparently in the small print of the contract there is a STRICTLY NO BANDS WILL SUPPORT THE ROOTS rule. A bit like that NO ONE'S ALLOWED TO SAMPLE RADIOHEAD rule. Anyway I done the show. It was alright but like I said in my last blog it's hard to grab the attention of that many people with just an acoustic guitar.

So on to Shepard's Bush Empire. Got a sick review from London Lite newspaper who noticed Beni G's decks set up but him no where to be seen. The reason for this was simple; I don't have full PA mixes of my tracks because I always play backing tracks with the band i.e. versions of the tracks without drums and bass for Cassell and Drake. So even though Beni had spent the day getting PA mixes of the tracks from the studio, he had no time to check the mixes. This meant sound check was the only time we could make sure they were ok to perform... Evidently they weren't.

--> --> Good news. The next day The Root's people decided Cassell was a proper musician. Their production manager had toured with him before and knew he was a good drummer so The B-Team was fine to play with me for the rest of tour. Lucky for me Cassell's a proper musician or I'd be fucked! After thanking The Roots for tip ex-ing over the small print we opened the show for them. Was an alright show. Always takes a show or two to warm up so weren't the best but was of a good standard.

The next night was Birmingham which was followed by Manchester and then Glasgow. Out of all three Glasgow seemed to enjoy them selves the most, the crowd definitely got moving straight from the start. After the show some guy came over to us and said we were the best band to support The Roots since Ms Dynamite did with hers. He was drunk!

Apologies in advance for the random way of which I'm about to finish this blog but..

I was standing in a queue at a club with Cassell and the girl in front of us had a moustache! Think your fifteen year old brother only just going through puberty letting the wispy mousey black hairs above his lip grow to convince the bloke down the offey he's old enough to buy alcohol. It was fucked! I watched the Bouncers reaction towards her as she and her boyfriend approached him at the door. Nothing. It was like it was normal or something. I felt sorry for her. Was everyone she met just so polite that they never said anything or did she (along with her boyfriend) just find it attractive? Messed!"

Jetted off to Munich yesterday, well I say jetted, I mean flew there on a BA flight (probably got radiation now) for the Roots support gig with my manager Roy.

Good performance from myself but was a hard show. Reminded me of the early days when most of you hadn't heard of me and would talk through my shit. It wasn't a disrespect thing though. A sold out one and a half thousand capacity venue is just not the best place for yours truly to do a half hour acoustic set. The same thing would have happened had it been my own gig. Saying that though I do remember supporting John Legend at Birmingham Academy to about the same amount of people, maybe more, and it being a lot quieter, but hey who knows?

What I do know is, after the Berlin gig tonight when I get back to the UK and prepare myself for the Bristol gig ,it will be with the B-Team. For real, those big venues just don't feel the same without that BA Barracas look-a-like mother fucker Cassell beating away on his 10 year old drum kit, while Andy Fat 'Face' Sheldrake flicks his even 'fatter than his face' bass guitar strings like musical clit's and Beni G ..the other one from the A-Team ..Whats his fucking name? Fuck I think I'm getting people mixed up now ..all I know is I'm that old cunt who always has a fucking cigar in his mouth ….Except I don't smoke anymore .But I'm still using the nicorette inhalator so technically that makes me Hannibal.

Well any way, when all those cunts are with me, especially Beni G scratching away on his hired Pioneer CD-J's (how many plugs have I got to give you guy's till you endorse us? Honestly, have you not seen the No More Eatin' video?)- it gets through to all those fuckers ..Even the dickheads at the back who are trying engage in conversation with their pals. Do you know why? Because its so fucking loud they have to listen.

Don't get me wrong though, I love acoustic music, it's just there's a time and a place. Like when I performed at Neighbourhood for Patrick Neate's (the author) spoken word night. The audience loved it. Exact same set as last night but to the right crowd, people who had come to hear someone read a chapter from a book and watch a poet perform live poetry. In that environment all I need is an acoustic guitar.

Anyways, more interesting news now. As you read in the latter I've quit smoking. It hasn't actually been that hard. It's been two month's now and I no longer have an overwhelming urge to smoke. The nicorette inhalator tampon thing -goes everywhere with me, although I'm not using it a lot. You're supposed to use about 12 cartridges a day if you were a 20 a day smoker ..I'm managing on just the one cartridge per day (wow! good for me). At the airport in Munich there are complimentary (free) gourmet coffee vending machines by each gate and glass housed smoking booths. The booths have built in ash trays and extractor fans to keep the smoke from harming anyone other than the people smoking.

Question; Why did no one think to install these simple little inventions into pub's and club's across Britain considering the impending change of law?

I've just got back from Japan, is was a very exciting place to go to but it's fucking hot, worse than England was last month. Japan's one of those places you can't imagine, nothings really what you expect. Some of it was like Blade Runner, especially at night. They have these all in one toilets that spray your arse with warm water. I've never had a batty wash but I imagine it might feel something like this. We went to a Korean BBQ which was cool. They have grills on the middle of the table, they just drop the meat, big cuts of beef, right on it and cook it in front of you. I didn't even have time to shop but we did get to go to some clubs which reminded me of the clubs in Shoreditch, even down to the music the DJ's were playing. I was wondering whether they'd actually flown them out from north London. We were actually there for the Summersonic festival which was live. Fans there don't know the words to the songs yet, give it time, it's just starting off over there, but the response was good. We shared a plane back with The Editors and Muse, we said 'hello' but didn't get into anything.

We passed through the MOBO Nomination party in Camden last night which was alright, had some free drinks with the boys. Found out I'd been nominated for 2 MOBO's; Best Male and Best Newcomer. They tell me they're nominated and voted for by the people which is good. I don't think i'll win cause certain awards are only there for American acts cause shows need to be fronted which obviously leaves less awards for UK artists. I'm up against Sway and Kano for Best Male, we all deserve it but I'd rather be next to them than other people I don't respect. I met Alesha Dixon too, well I've met her before, but we had a chat and she was biggin' me up, tellin' me she's feeling the album and hopes I win something. She's cool and I hope she wins in her category too, but I don't expect to get the appreciation some people might think I deserve at an awards show cause my music's not mid road enough for people who don't listen to hip hop.

I'm going into the studio next week to do a live four track EP. It's going to include three new tracks (which I haven't written yet) and a version of No More Eatin'. I dunno quite what's happening but there's going to be a video shot next Friday too, at a London location. I've had quite a few messages from people asking about the Shameless collaboration, Pass That, taken from MK's mixtape. Shameless went to school around the corner from me so we've been mates a while, that's how we were able to slag each other off. We both have the ability to make people look stupid so on Pass That we wanted to show we could do the battle rapping but in an actual song format. The concept was literally to kill each other off. He even tried to tell me when we were recording it that I was coming into late, but in the end I was right.

Right now I wanna be in the studio, but I'm cotchin' cause I can't get hold of Beni G. We're doing some mixtape tracks and we want to get it ready and out for Christmas. I'm gonna bootleg some album tracks, plus do some new material, spitting over legendary songs, on a rock tip. It's kinda grindie but leaning more toward the hip hop side of things.

All I know is it's going to be next Friday at a London location and think it's going to be a gig of sorts (but don't quote me on that). I’m relieved to get the tour over with. Was a really tiring experience. There’s so much adrenalin pumping through me for hours before each show that it takes a lot out of me. And I only eat one meal a day and don’t look after myself. Having said that we fucked up most of the gigs and as training for the bigger tour in October now I know what to expect. All the dates were amazing, massive thanks to everyone who came along. Besides getting to meet so many of you, terrorizing my ex-tour manager was the undoubted tour highlight. The fat cunt tried to leave us in the lurch half way through. We had words, I switched on him, and hopefully we’ll never be seeing him again. RIP.

Another thing - I love smoking. Cigarettes or cigars I don’t care (don’t smoke draw though, used to sell it but don’t get high off your own supply people). Yep. I fucking love smoking and sorry if this sounds un-PC but I’m not gonna stop anytime soon. I started at 11 and now 11 years later I finally understand what it must be like for a crackhead who cant stop smoking crack (not that I’d ever touch it myself). I can’t stop smoking cigarettes. I’ve seen diseased lungs and shit and it still don’t stop me. Even though I’m out of breath just walking up stairs and at the end of the gigs on tour I could hardly breathe, its not stopping me. My label told me I should give up but I don’t want to. I smoke about 20 a day, but when I’m in the studio its about 40. I also like a drink or two in the studio but that’s another story for another time. If my smoking made people around my unhappy that may stop me. Either that or finding someone I know who has lung cancer, something of that magnitude. Until then its my one weakness.

Football season kicks off soon and I have to say the new Man Utd kit looks shit. Its looks like an old First Division kit, not a good look. Arsenal on the other hand, their new kit looks cool. Just wish Wenger would spend some money. I missed the Bergkamp testimonial the other week but I have to say Dennis is an original gangsta, he should definitely stay on at Arsenal as a coach. He brought the good players to Arsenal, he was more important than Wenger or Henry as he came first. Without him we wouldn’t be shit. The famous goal he score at Newcastle was incredible, defied the laws of physics.

Music wise, I’m working on a new mixtape. It’s gonna be heavy and there’s a big concept behind it that I don’t want to let you know about yet. Hold tight a month or so and all will be revealed.
Skrein played me a new MC called Vinnie paz the other day. He's from New York I think, part of Jedi Mind Tricks. Concept wise, he’s killin’ it on the track I heard, about his brother who’s a drug addict, kinda along lines of ‘I Don’t Hate You’. Def check him out if you get the chance.
Speaking of Skrein I’m working on his album at the moment. For those that don’t know he got me into rappin’, you only have to listen to ‘Hows It Feel’ on my mixtape to realise how good this guy is. If you’re feelin’ Plan B you will definitely like Skrein.

Some people think we've been partying but the first night we stayed up till 5am chatting shit. Some guy called me a media whore, because I'm on myspace and Rupert Murdoch owns it. It was more a philosophical debate, i told him he was a dickhead cause he supports Newcastle United and that's owned by Freddie Shepherd, a big tycoon. It's bullshit. Drinking JD & Cokes at £4.30 in a shit hotel. Mother fuckers started ordering shit to the bands rooms, rooms which weren't there's. Yesterday I got a vodka and Red Bull, it cost
me £5.35 and I was not happy. Would you be happy paying that for a drink in a shit hotel?

But check this yeah, Andy, the bass player, went to this kebab shop in
Birmingham and someone knocked his kebab out of his hand and he didn't beat them up! They've got it on camera and I checked
it, it looks like the guy smashed it from his hand but it was an accident. If someone did knock a kebab out of your hand, like a joke happy slap ting, yeah, that's fucking rude. You can't have that. You can't be doing that in this day and age, it's like flying a fucking plane into a building. For most people buying a kebab, it's their last £5, or
they've spent all their money and had to borrow money off their mates to buy one. This guy tried to get away with it, then a bouncer came down... yeah, a bouncer at a kebab shop and forced the boys to buy Andy a new kebab.

Touring N Ting

The tours been going off. Newcastle showed bare love. The only time they wained was when I asked what happened to PJ and Duncan, some of them got offended. I was just taking the piss, but they asked for it cause PJ and Duncan are still allowed to walk around Newcastle like celebrities. Every restaurant you go in has a picture of them in it, they're proud of PJ and Duncan. Scotland was sick, people were going mad, I remember one girl at the front getting happy, screaming and vibrating if you know what I mean, a bit of a fit. Kinda like those girls who used to do it to Take That. Birmingham was a bit of an anti-climax, they expect a lot, even though they paid to see me they seemed a bit on guard. Liverpool was hard at first too but we worked them. As soon as I said 'scousers' they warmed up. I heard that some guys were shouting 'get your dick out', I didn't hear that but I wouldn't take it as an insult. It's just a good bunch of blokes testing how brave they are, to which I'd say 'get your dick out' and if they did, if it was big people would be like 'wahey' and if it was small everyone would laugh. I've been signing a lot of trainers along the way, it's the new lick definitely. In-stores are alright, lots of signing, I like meeting the fans cause they're there to see you. Otherwise I don't really like meeting people cause most people are cunts, not Plan B fans though. In-stores are hard when I've got a show that night cause I've got to perform again and again and again. One day I had two radio performances, an in-store and a show and I felt like it's too fucking much, If I lose my voice don't blame me cause I'm getting whored out like this. Fucking cunts. I'm only joking. I'm really looking forward to the London show, I'm writing this as I head back in the white van. I'm expecting it to be the best, if it's not I'll be fucking disappointed. It's the biggest capacity, dunno how many exactly, but it's more than 500. We still haven't been given any fucking t-shirts to sell, we had a load of new designs made up, like a cunt one, that was gonna be Sems job shifting those so we've had to give him other stuff to do. He's been filming loads. The visuals aren't working yet either, fuck it.
